Happy Birthday Xander

So today is Xanders' birthday and boy has time flown by. I can not believe tha he is 10 years old today. So to reflect on the past 10 years it has been full of laughter and headache. Xanders favorite color is blue of course. His favorite food is our homemade pasta salad, so of course we are making it for dinner today. He is really into LEGOS. In fact he loves to build them over and over agian. He is in the 4th grade and this year he is working on a science project and is really in to it. I remember when he was just starting preschool and how excited he was to get on the school bus, now soometimes it is a headache to get him to turn off his light at night to get him to go to bed and stop reading. Of couse i love to see him excited about reading. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY XANDER.

Washington Weather

So as normal here in Western Washington we get a lot of rain. Well this past week we got a ton of rain within 24 hours, which for here is not normal. My sister Anna Lee got married yesterday in Utah, but because of the rain Keziah and I were not able to make it. It rained so much here that on I-90 they had a mudslide that damaged the road and that is one of the major ways out of Western Washington. The other way is I-5 and that flooded that we were unable to make it out that way also. They had those routes shut down for two days and it was estimated that it cost consumers 12 million dollars. OUCH!!! We were going with my parents and Ambria my niece. We even tried to leave a day earlier then we planned due to the weather. But at last the elements won and my parent took a early flight out of Seatac to Salt Lake to make it to the wedding. From what I understand it went great and all is well. Congrats Anna Lee and Jay. I will still be able to see them in February for the reception here. But all worked out in the long run for everybody involved.

2009

So as many of you do I have decided to have a new years resolution. Mine for this year is to be more Christ like and giving more attention to my spirituality. To some of you this may be easy but for me this is as hard as a diet. This can be easy or hard and right now it is a hard thing to do for me. I am trying to have more patience with my children and enjoy my time with them. I think the hardest thing is to find things to do with them so if any of you have any ideas to do with them please feel free to share. may the new year bring love and joy to all of you.

white christmas

Okay so here in western Washington we do not get that much snow at all......well this week we have been dumped on. yesterday we got about 6 inches...let me clue you in for here that is trouble. The roads are not the best and with a ton of hills here that means a lot of ice...the only thing that is fun about it is that i can stay home and be warm and not worry about driving in it. They did cancel church here and my children got to start the winter break early. They have been out of scholl sinse wednesday and the break shopuld have started tomorrow. Dallin is so funny he thinks that when his hands get cold from the snow that he has freezebite. I have learned that i can not argue with a 4 1/2 year old. Colby is just glad that he does not have to go to school because he says that it is too long. He has all day everyday kindergarten. Keziah and Xander are both chomping at the bit to call their friends from school. Of course they are all ready to open there presents that are under the tree. We get a white christmas this year and that is the first one for the kids they are so excited. Well sone I will get the hang of this blog things and learn how to post more. Have a wonderful Christmas.

getting ready for christmas

As we are getting ready for christmas i relized how much money it costs. I asked my children if they mindded if they did not get to much and they just about went crazy as if i just cut off their arms. Boy are they so not understanding the true meaning of christmas. Colby is asking for whatever he want to be given to him for his birthday in march. When i asked him why he said because Santa Claus does not always give me what i want. Man are children so funny.

This is my attempt to a blog and we will see how well i do at it.
